Wow! Is this the best SBK? We base in a 15th century castle 20 minutes from the track, beer £1.25 and a brilliant, hilly circuit for the coolest weekend on the calendar!

Event review - WSBK Czech Republic 2024

Is this the best SBK event?

We stay in a 15th century castle atop a hill spectacularly overlooking the town. Like royalty, we take a cable car down to the town to partake in brilliant Cech food & beer. And we get to go to a nearby circuit - the oldest in the Czech Republic - for awesome race action!

After picking up guests from Prague airport, we drove all the 1 hr route to lovely Usti nad Labem where we introduced them to their home for the weekend in a stunning castle! With a Czech speaking guide everything will go super smoothly.

Thursday night we had our traditional welcome drinks, and some of use opted to descend to the town to sample the great Czech food & beer. What a spectacular way to go for dinner!

Friday we went to the track and watched Toprak RAZGATLIOGLU dominate every session - and then go on to win all races!

Most of our customers were guests of Kawasaki and we had a brilliant 'behind the scenes' garage tour.

Friday night we had our opening dinner at the castle - superb Czech fare washed down with sublime Czech beer and finishing with the unique Czech brandy slivovice!

Saturday saw Toprak take his first of three victories. However the highlight was our sponsored rider in the MotoGP Red Bull Rookies, Australian Carter Thompson, take a podium on his maiden SBK race, riding in the SSP300 class. Sensational result that even had announcer Michael Hill gushing in praise!

A free evening, some people went down the cable car to town, others enjoyed dinner with a view at the castle.

Sunday was the big race day. In the Superpole, apart from the inevitable Toprak victory we were delighted the Kawasaki rider Alex Lowes took a podium.

Toprak won the main race of course but attending the podium celebration right in the heart of the crown beneath the podium was Czech president Petr Pavel! The Italians on the podium Locatelli and Bulega were not shy about spraying the champagne in his direction!

Sunday evening we took the guests down the cable car to a classic Czech Pivovar - brewery restaurant - where we had an amazing meal and great cheer!

Certainly has become our favourite superbike round! Maybe a local bias? :-)
