Event review - Isle of Man TT 2025

Road racing insanity! Sketchy weather kept us on our toes but didn't dampen our enjoyment of one of the busiest TTs in history!

We arrive a few days early to do the huge setup required for this event. We will have nearly 100 package guests over three tour packages during the race week:
- 3 night "intro" race week
- 6 night race week
- Deluxe package for 6 nights

We are delighted with the refurbished 4* Sefton hotel - our main base during the TT. They have totally redone the former Sir Norman's bar - the Encore Bar looks spectacular with the same great staff and even expanded selection of drinks & food.

We take the early birds Friday to Braddan Bridge to see the qualification sessions from the churchyard. We also walk over to the Old Braddan Kirk to see the action from the ancient grounds...

Friday, to welcome our 3- and 9-day guests we host a dinner at the nearby famous Paparazzi restaurant. Our sponsored ride Michal "Indi" Dokoupil and his team joins us. We also welcome Michael Laverty - the boss of our sponsored MotoGP Team MLav Racing who have just launched a new road race team!

Saturday at Sulby Glen Hotel

Saturday we head to the fastest point on the course - the famous Sulby straight. We enjoy hospitality at the Sulby Glen Hotel, with our host the legendary Steve Parrish. No racing but we saw bikes and sidecars going by at 200mph less than a meter away. The sidecars leaving a shockwave as they pass!

We are introduced to the sidecar passenger with the most wins in the TT: Dan Sayle. He joins Steve Parrish to give us insights into the mad world of sidecar racing. In case this wasn't enough, multiple TT sidecar victor and 3x world sidecar champion Klaus Klaffenbock also joins us!

In the late afternoon, some of us jump off the bus from Sulby to visit the paddock and again to Indi's garage. Indi and his team join us for drinks afterwards

Sunday at the Creg-ny-ba.

The weather delayed the Sunday racing, so we took advantage of the delay and took a ride of the circuit up to the mountain section, and invited our friend Indi to narrate. Indi was his usual charismatic and funny self - explaining how tiny roadside furniture were important brake markers over this 37.75 mile, 230+ corner circuit! Incredible!

We occupy both the old double decker bus and the grandstand for superb exclusive viewing. Sadly there was no racing, but we still got to see solos and sidecars in action. One rider missed his braking point, slamming into the barrier. Fortunately he was ok, shaken but not broken...

We even ride the bus back into town! In the evening we wish our 3 day customers a sad goodbye, We are joined by Indi and his team...

Monday at Cronk-y-voddy hedgerow

With the first races postponed to Monday, our originally planned Island Tour was changed to a tour to one of the fastest points on the course - the Cronk-y-voddy. The speeds here are crazy! 200mph with bikes passing at arms length! We finally get to see some racing with Davey Todd taking a fantastic victory in the Superbike, and in invincible Crowe brothers bringing home the Sidecar trophy.

We DO take in one historical point of interest - the Tynwald -- the world's only outdoor parliament - over 1000 years old!

Monday opening dinner

We host our traditional opening dinner. with a great buffet at the Sefton, featuring again our sponsored rider Indi and team boss Michael Laverty of MLav Racing

Tuesday at Signpost roadside

Tuesday we head to one of our favourite viewing spots, the Signpost corner, near the end of the circuit. Some of us walk down to Bedstead and the Nook for faster action. Sadly no racing occurs, just a practice lap of the solos and sidecars, but at least we saw some bikes!

Wednesday Grandstand

On Wednesday we take guests to the Grandstand and paddock. Several guests opt for the upgrade to Team Experience and are treated to a in-depth tour of the paddock, several garages and a technical tour of a sidecar! We also enjoy great food & drink and special guests such as veteran TT racer Mike McCormack and TT legendary personality "Wheelie" Konni!)

Thursday track tour and lunch

Thursday we are joined by superstar James Hillier and do a lap of the course. Absolutely spellbinding. We stop for QA and lunch at the famous Creg-ny-ba. James had taken his first podium since 2019 in the Supersport earlier in the week!

Red Arrows

Before dinner we organised an aerobatic display by the famous Red Arrows!

We do an ad-hoc dinner at our favourite Italian Paparazzi. Afterwards some of us repair to the new whiskey bar opened by our friend Denis. We finished with drinks with Indi and team in the Encore. Another great day!

Friday at the Ginger Hall

We have a hospitality at the Ginger Hall with guest Glenn Irwin - who talks us through a full speed lap of the course (as ridden by John McGuinness). Amazing. Tons of racing to take advantage of the good weather, we get our money's worth! (As well as a great lunch!)

After a short delay, we finally get racing! Three races keep us glued to our private grandstand at this legendary corner. The Crowe brothers again dominate the Sidecar. Dean Harrison takes the Superstock, with our man James Hillier taking a respectable 4th.

The race we were looking forward to the most was the supertwin. Michael Dunlop scored his 33rd TT win -- an all time record! -- but it was our privateer, back-of-the-paddock, impoverished Indi Dokoupil taking 9th that electrified us. He drives 2000+ miles from Prague with his team, 3 bikes, marquee, parts and all the other gubbins in his 20 year old Mercedes Sprinter van, parked literally in the last pitch in the paddock. His bike costs about £90,000 less than the factory bikes of Dunlop and others. Yet his results are far above any reasonable expectation! We will be trying to raise more sponsorship for him for next year.

Indi celebration dinner

To celebrate his career best result, Indi invites sponsor Gordon to join a blow-out Chinese dinner with fellow Czech Wonder Woman Team -- sadly without rider Veronika who had had a bad accident earlier in the week (see below). Also the birthday of Lenka - one of the Wonder Woman mechanics!

Senior Race Day at the VIP

Our group splits - with one set going to the VIP Mercury Club in the paddock. A few guests upgrade to the Legends Club, where we are personally looked after by TT legend Irishman Brian Reid. We go to the grid for the warmup lap. A number of top guests come to the Club, and 'Milky' Quayle narrated an awesome lap of the TT course!

Senior Race Day at the Creg-ny-ba

Our other group went to the famous Creg-ny-ba -- IMHO the best viewing point on the Mountain Course. We enjoy a great buffet lunch, open bar and great views of the circuit. Unfortunately, apart from a test lap, we see no bikes...

Sadly, for only the second time in its history, the Senior TT is cancelled. John McGuinness tells us personally that the circuit felt unsafe under the drying conditions and especially the high winds; and this feeling is shared by most riders. Unfortunately the contingency day of Sunday is ruled out as the weather reports were even worse

Not to let the unfortunate cancellation ruin our day, we have a great closing drinks session. Indi joins us to accept our congratulations for his amazing result (sadly they also cancelled the awards ceremony so Indi couldn't bring his coveted Silver Replica).

We close the TT with a spectacular fireworks over the Douglas Harbour. Many guests vow to return!

Sunday Castletown tour

As if to taunt us, Sunday the weather was superb. A group of us headed south to Castletown and the bottom of the island. We start at the legendary Murray's Motorcycle Museum - an incredible collection of bikes and memorabilia build by one man Peter Murray. Following a great lunch in the main square of Castletown with drinks under imposing Castle Rushen, we then made our way to the southernmost point of the island- the Calf of Man. We finish our visit to Castletown at the famous Glue Pot pub (and on return to the Sefton the inevitable final drinks...!) A perfect end to a great week!

Bring on TT 2026! We have been taking preliminary reservations for some time and expect to sell out by September -- book now!

Veronika Hankocyová

We met female road racer Veronika even before we knew Indi - indeed she was the one who introduced us. As mentioned, she had a bad accident in the first Supertwin race. Thankfully she survived and is on a long road to recovery. See photos at end of the gallery. We are trying to help her out, and have made a donation to her, and we ask our guests who have been touched by her kindness and passion - or simply want to support women in racing - to help out. You can donate any amount on ppt.gp/veronika
